Blow molding, also known as hollow blow molding, is a fast developing plastic processing method. The tube shaped plastic blank obtained by extrusion or injection molding of thermoplastic resin is placed in the opposite die while it is hot (or heated to soften). After the die is closed, the air is compressed in the blank immediately to make the plastic blank inflate and cling to the inner cavity of the die. After cooling, the hollow products are obtained.


Blow molding and rotational molding products are all hollow, and the surface is not flat. The surface of rotational molding products is close to the mold, and the mold materials harm the handle of the product surface.

The process is different. Blow molding is injection + blow; injection molding is injection + press; rotational molding is extrusion + press. Generally, the surface of injection parts is smooth, while blow molding products are mostly matte. Blow molding can be used as hollow products, but injection molding is not good. Injection molding has a rubber inlet, but blow molding does not.

Blow molding is generally dominated by HDPE. Generally speaking, injection molding is a solid core, blow molding and rotational molding are hollow core. Blow molding is generally used for hollow goods, such as Aquarius, teapot, and various daily chemical appliances.
